Municipal session using digital voting.

Digital Voting System

A digital voting platform for municipal assembly sessions.

The context

This project marked the beginning of Portocali and grew out of the ambition to modernise voting at Coimbra Municipal Assembly. The aim was to make the process faster and more transparent, simplify vote counting and use session time more efficiently.

How it works

The system connects around 50 tablets simultaneously to a central controller through an internal network. Each representative records their vote directly on a tablet. Once voting closes, the results appear on a screen in the room, allowing everyone to follow the outcome clearly and immediately.
